How Simple Is This ... Chicken
- 1 packet Tomato Garlic Prawns (a sauce found in the Asian aisle of most supermakets)
- Chicken breasts ... boneless, skinless or with the bone and ribs attached (one piece per person) *** you can substitute any chicken (thighs, legs, etc.)if you don't want to use breasts.
- *** You can also use this same sauce and method for prawns, shrimp, pork, or any fish or meat.
- Place the chicken in a baking dish. Pour the sauce over the chicken and bake. I like to bake my chicken at 350 degrees for 30 - 45 minutes, depending on the cut of chicken I use. If you use shrimp, prawns or fish, adjust the time to 20 - 30 minutes ... until fish is translucent and flaky or shrimp/prawns turn pink.
- If you can not find the packet of Tomato Garlic Prawns sauce, you can make a similar sauce by combining the following ingredients, whisking to mix well:
- 1 small can tomato paste
- 1 - 2 T. honey or maple syrup
- 1 t. chili powder (use more if you like it hot)
- 1 clove minced garlic
- 1 t. sugar
- 1 T. soy sauce
- 1 t. cornstarch which has been mixed in 3 T. cold water
- optional: 1 diced chile (any variety, use the hotter chile if you like hot, use a milder chile if you do not like it hot)
garlic, chicken breasts , prawns
