Italian Sausage Bread
- 1 1/2 lb. Italian sausage (bulk or remove from casing)
- 1 pkg. chopped frozen spinach
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 1/4 c. Romano cheese, grated
- salt and pepper (if desired)
- 2 lb. frozen bread dough
- egg yolk
- sesame seed
- Saute onion and garlic slightly in oil; add sausage and cook for 15 minutes.
- Then add spinach and cheese.
- Cook until spinach is thawed and then another 15 minutes.
- Set aside to cool.
- Let dough thaw and rise for a few hours.
- Roll out oblong shape. Spread half of filling on each of two halves.
- Roll up; put on greased sheet and let rise again for 1 hour.
- Coat with egg yolk and sprinkle with sesame seed on top.
- Bake at 375u0b0 for about 25 to 30 minutes until brown.
