White Cheddar Stuffed Turkey Burgers
- 1 1/4 lbs (1 pkg) ground turkey
- 1 1/4 lbs (1 pkg) hot turkey sausage (de-cased)
- 1 lg. shallot--minced
- 1 med.-lg. jalapeno--minced, seeds and all!
- 3-4 cloves garlic--minced
- 1 tbsp. grill seasoning
- 1-2 tbsp. worscheshire sauce
- 1 hand-full coarsely chopped italian parsley
- 6-8 thick slices (2x2" squares) extra sharp white cheddar cheese
- Slice sausages about 1/4 of the way thru, just to open casing; peel off casing and discard. Place turkey sausage meat in large mixing bowl. Add seasonings/veggies to bowl and top with ground turkey meat. (Makes for easier distribution of spices since you don't want to over-mix.) Form 12-16 small burger patties (depending on desired burger size). On half of burgers, place cheese slice and cover with remaining burgers. Pinch shut around sides. Place on hot BBQ (or indoor) grill for 4-5 mins each side.Let rest 3-4 mins before serving. To be extra devilish, toast Onion burger buns under broiler with another slice of white cheddar, or a spicy cheddar (try Sargento Chipotle Cheddar).
