Apple Pan Walnut Cake
- Apple Pan Cake-
- 2 cans Apple pie filling
- 2 Cups flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking Soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 eggs beaten slightly
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2/3 cup cooking oil
- 3/4 cup chopped walnuts-divided
- Sour cream topping
- 2 cup sugar
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 tsp Soda
- Combine ingredients in a sauce pan.
- Cook over Med. Heat stirring constantly until mixture comes
- to a boil. Remove from heat, pour over warm cake.
- Note: Cherry, Peach, Apricot, Pineapple, filling may be substituted.
- Spread pie filling on bottom of 13X9 pan. Combine flour, sugar,
- soda & salt. Sprinkle over pie filling. In mixing bowl
- combine eggs, vanilla, oil & 1/2C nuts mix well. Pour over
- ingredients in pan. Fold until well blended, smooth batter
- evenly in pan. Bake @ 350o for 40-50 min. Prick warm cake
- w/fork. Pour hot topping over cake sprinkle 1/4 cup nuts.
- Serve warm or cold.
