Teriyaki Sauce (My Version)
- 1/2 cup dark Soy Sauce
- 1/2 cup Water
- 1 tbsp minced fresh garlic
- 1 tbsp minced fresh ginger
- 1/4 cup spring onions
- 1 tsp finely chopped green chilies (with out the seeds)
- 1/2 tsp chile flakes (or cayenne pepper)
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp Strawberry preserve
- 1 tsp Orange zest
- 1 tbsp cornflour
- 1 tsp vegetable oil
- 1.tn a hot sauce pan add oil and let it smoke mildly
- 2.tdd garlic and Chili flakes and let brown (very light you should only see the edges light golden brown)
- 3.tdd Green Chilies, Onions & Ginger and saute till onions are translucent
- 4.tdd soy sauce
- 5.tower heat and bring to a rolling boil (taste and you should be able to get mild flavors of the ingredients added so far)
- 6.tdd table spoon of Strawberry preserve and stir with a small wire whisk until it dissolved and than add the honey and let it blend into the sauce
- 7.tow add orange zest and let cook for a few seconds
- 8.tix the 1/4 cup of water and cornflour and add to pan, cook until sauce thickens. towards the end add the spring onions
