Baked French Toast Casserole W/ Maple Syrup
- YOU WILL NEED:
- 1 loaf French bread
- 8 lg eggs
- 2 cups half and half
- 1 cup milk
- 2 Tbls sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- Dash of salt
- Maple Syrup
- FOR PRALINE TOPPING YOU WILL NEED:(instructions to come)
- 1/2 pound (2 sticks) butter
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 2 Tbls light corn syrup
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- *slice bread into 20 slices(1-inch each)
- * arrange slices in a generously buttered 9x13 dish, in two rows-layered on top of each other-overlapping
- *In large bowl, combine eggs, half and half, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt...Beat with beater or wisk
- *Pour mixture over bread and make sure it covers evenly-use spoon to get between pieces of bread
- *cover w/foil and put in fridge overnight...
- NEXT DAY:
- *preheat oven to 350
- PREPARE PRALINE TOPPING
- *Combine the following and blend well...
