Double Chocolate Treasures
- 2 c. semi-sweet chocolate bits
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. oats, uncooked
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. powdered sugar
- Heat oven
- to 350u0b0.
- In a heavy saucepan over low heat, melt 1 cup chocolate pieces.
- Stir until smooth; cool slightly.* Beat together margarine and sugar until light and fluffy. Blend in eggs, vanilla and melted chocolate.
- Add combined dry ingredients except powdered sugar; stir in remaining chocolate pieces.
- Shape dough
- into
- 1-inch
- balls;
- roll
- in powdered sugar, coating heavily.
- Place
- on an ungreased cookie sheet; bake 10 to
- 12 minutes.
- Cool
- 1
- minute
- on
- a cookie sheet; remove to
- wire rack.
- Store
- in
- airtight
- container.
- Makes about 5 dozen.
