  1. Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
  2. Cut 1/2 cup butter into 1 cup flour. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons water and mix into a ball.
  3. Divide in half.
  4. Press each half onto ungreased baking sheet, spreading into a rectangle about 6 x 12-inches.
  5. Heat remaining butter and water to boiling.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in almond extract and flour. Stir vigorously until mixture forms a ball (1 minute).
  7. Beat in all eggs at once, mixing until smooth and glossy.
  8. Divide in half; spread evenly over first layer.
  9. Bake 60 minutes or until topping is crisp and brown.
  10. Cool.
  11. Frost with glaze and sprinkle with almonds.
