Kringler
- 1/2 c. soft butter
- 1 c. flour
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1 c. water
- 1 tsp. almond extract
- 1 c. flour
- 3 eggs
- 1 glaze recipe
- slivered or sliced almonds
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
- Cut 1/2 cup butter into 1 cup flour. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons water and mix into a ball.
- Divide in half.
- Press each half onto ungreased baking sheet, spreading into a rectangle about 6 x 12-inches.
- Heat remaining butter and water to boiling.
- Remove from heat and stir in almond extract and flour. Stir vigorously until mixture forms a ball (1 minute).
- Beat in all eggs at once, mixing until smooth and glossy.
- Divide in half; spread evenly over first layer.
- Bake 60 minutes or until topping is crisp and brown.
- Cool.
- Frost with glaze and sprinkle with almonds.
