Snickerdoodles

• For the topping:
• 3 T sugar
• 1 t cinnamon
• For the cookie dough
• 3 1/2 C flour
• 1 T baking powder
• 2 t baking soda
• 1/4 t salt
• 1/4 t cinnamon
• 1 C butter
• 2 C sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1 T light corn syrup
• 2 1/2 t vanilla extract

1. In a small bowl, stir together the sugar and cinnamon and set aside.
2. To make the cookie dough, stir together the dry ingredients.
3. In mixer, cream the butter. Add the sugar and continue to mix, then add the eggs, corn syrup, and vanilla, and mix thoroughly. Add the dry ingredients and mix until blended. Chill dough if it is sticky or difficult to handle.
4. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
5. Roll small balls of dough in the cinnamon sugar to coat. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes until puffed up and the surface is slightly cracked.
