Barbecue Sauce
- 1 Tablespoon coconut oil
- 1 medium yellow onion (minced)
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 2 8oz cans tomato sauce
- 1 8oz can tomato paste
- 1 Tablespoon roasted garlic paste
- 1/3 cup dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 teaspoons liquid smoke
- Heat coconut oil over medium heat. Saute onions until translucent, then add minced garlic and stir for two minutes. Add brown sugar and stir until dissolved, then add tomato sauce, tomoato paste and roasted garlic paste stirring until well blended. Add remaining ingredients, stir until mixed. Cover and reduce heat to low, simmering for one hour, stirring frequently. May be used immediately or cooled refrigerated or frozen for later use.
