Best Apple Pie

  1. Crust:
  2. Combine flour and salt in bowl.
  3. Cut on crisco with pastry blender or 2 knives, I cup at a time.
  4. Until mixture is uniform.
  5. Sprinkle a few drops of water at a time over the flour mixture.
  6. Toss w/a fork, then push moistened part aside and continue w/ remaining water and flour.
  7. Work dough into firm ball.
  8. Press dough into 2 flat circles.
  9. On lightly floured area, roll big enough to fit pie pan.
  10. Filling:
  11. Mix sugar salt and cinnamon.
  12. Sprinkle a layer in crust.
  13. Then a layer of apples, squeeze lemon over apples (watch for seeds) repeat finishing with sugar mixture.
  14. Put bitter or margarine over top in chunks (1 in middle and about 5-6 around edges) put 2nd crust over.
  15. Put milk and sprinkle sugar over top for glaze.
  16. Cut designs for air.
  17. Bake 425 degrees for 30-40 min.
  18. Poke knives into apples.
  19. Crust might get over done-okay!
