Friday Chili

  1. Soak overnight or parboil beans, drain & put in the crockpot.Cook the ground beef, on medium, making sure to break up the large clumps of beef. When halfway done, add the minced garlic.While the meat is cooking, dice the onion and bell pepper and add to the beans in the crockpot.Add the spices and salt, then the tomatoes and tomato paste. Make sure to mix the paste with some water before adding it to the pot.Add the meat, mix well and set the crockpot on low for 10 hours. Stirring a few times during that time helps the beans to soften evenly. You can also set the crockpot on high for 6 hours, but then you have to stir it well every hour or so.
