Deep-Dish Beef Pie

  1. Spray a large skillet with nonstick coating.
  2. Preheat over medium-high heat.
  3. Brown half the meat in skillet.
  4. Remove.
  5. Add oil.
  6. Brown remaining meat.
  7. Return all meat to skillet.
  8. Stir in onion, celery, carrots, turnip, tomato juice, thyme, salt, 1/8 teaspoon pepper and + cup water.
  9. Cover and simmer 50 to 60 minutes or until meat is nearly tender.
