Green Bean Casserole
- 1 1/2 lb fresh green beans, trimmed and cut.
- 1 can (10 3/4 oz) cream of mushroom soup.
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp Worchestershire sauce
- 1 tsp Tabasco sauce (or other pepper sauce)
- freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 2 cups French's French fried onions
- 1 large onion sliced
- 3 cloves garlic finely chopped
- 3 red chilies chopped
- 1. Blanch green beans in salted boiling water for 5 minutes.
- 2. Fry onion, garlic, and chilies in olive oil until lightly golden.
- 3. Turn the heat off of the onion mixture. Add mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, Worchestershire sauce, Tabasco, and black pepper. Mix well.
- 4. Fold the beans into the onion mixture.
- 5. In a greased casserole dish, spread half of the green bean mixture. Sprinkle with half of the french fried onions. Layer the remaining green beans into the casserole.
- 6. Bake in 350 deg F oven for 40 minutes uncovered.
- 7. Sprinkle remaining french fried onions on top and bake for another 10-15 minutes.
- 8. Remove from oven and allow to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
