Nana'S Steaks
- Marinade
- 1/2 cup crushed garlic
- 1 cup melted butter
- 2 Tablespoons Mesquite seasoning
- 1 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
- 2 Tablespoons finely chopped onion
- Meat:
- Rib Eye Steaks, Cut 1" or thicker
- Combine marinade ingredients. Place the steaks in one layer in glass dish. Add marinade to dish. Turn the steaks to coat in the marinade. Place in refrigerator for at least one hour.
- Place skillet or stove top grill on highest heat on stove top. Get pan white hot. Add cold steak and sear on high heat until brown on one side.
- For rare: Cook five minutes on each side.
- for Medium: Cook seven minutes on each side.
- For well done: Remove steaks from pan at five minutes. Slice the steak in 1/2 inch pieces. Return to pan and brown each side of slices.
- Let steaks rest for five minutes and enjoy.
