Alicia'S Winter Beef Stew

  1. Heat butter and oil in stock pan.
  2. Drizzle meat with flour until lightly coated.
  3. Brown meat in hot oil.
  4. Add chopped onions followed by chopped garlic.
  5. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Once browned and onions soft, add red wine scraping bottom of pan.
  7. Add canned tomatoes - undrained.
  8. Add stock, bay leaf, and squash.
  9. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  10. Cover and simmer for at least 2 hours.
