Double Chocolate Brownies

  1. In a large bowl, combine cocoa and baking soda.
  2. Add 1/3 cup of melted butter.
  3. Add boiling water; stir until well blended. Stir in sugar, eggs and remaining butter or margarine.
  4. Add flour, vanilla and salt.
  5. Stir in the pecans and chocolate chips.
  6. Pour into a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
  7. Bake at 350u0b0 for 35 to 40 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan. Cool.
  8. Yield:
  9. 3 dozen.
