Mom-Mom'S Stuffed Cabbage
- 1 whole cabbage
- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- salt and pepper
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. bread crumbs
- 1/2 c. grated onion
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 (16 oz.) can cranberry sauce (whole berries)
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. white raisins
- 2 to 3 grains sweet-n-sour salts
- Core cabbage and break off into leaves.
- Cook leaves in microwave in a small amount of water for 5 minutes to soften. Season ground beef well with salt and pepper.
- Add egg, 1/2 cup bread crumbs and grated onion.
- Lay out cabbage leaves, and stuff each leaf with ground beef.
- Roll up leaves; secure with toothpicks if necessary.
- Cut up remainder of cabbage and put into the bottom of a big pot.
- Place cabbage rolls on top.
- Add the tomato sauce, bay leaf, cranberry sauce, brown sugar, white raisins and a pinch of sweet-n-sour salts.
- Serve with rice.
- Delicious!
