Time-Out Macadamia Cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a large bowl, cream butter, shortening and sugars until fluffy.
  3. Add egg and vanilla; beat until smooth.
  4. In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt.
  5. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture; stir until a soft dough forms.
  6. Stir in white chocolate and macadamia nuts.
  7. Drop teaspoonfuls of dough 2 inches apart onto an ungreased baking sheet.
  8. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
  9. Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool.
  10. Store in an air tight container. Yields:
  11. about 4 1/2 dozen cookies.
