Good And Easy Pound Cake
- 3 c. sugar
- 1 c. butter or margarine
- 6 eggs, separated
- 3 c. plain flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. almond flavoring
- 2 tsp. butter flavoring (omit 1 tsp. if you use butter)
- 1 c. yogurt
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- Beat egg whites until stiff and set aside.
- With mixer cream sugar and butter.
- Add egg yolks, one at a time, beating after each.
- Sift flour with baking powder and salt (don't omit this step).
- Add flour and yogurt (with lemon juice) alternately to sugar-butter mixture.
- Add flavorings.
- Fold egg whites into batter very gently.
- Pour into greased and floured Bundt cake pan and bake at 350u0b0 for 1 1/2 hours until toothpick comes out clean. Let cool and invert onto cake plate.
- You may glaze, but I do not.
