Mom'S Sweet And Sour Meatballs
- Meatballs
- 1.5 lb ground beef
- 1 beaten egg
- 1 cup crushed corn flakes
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- salt and pepper to taste
- olive oil, canola oil, or shortening for frying
- Sweet and Sour Sauce
- 2 cups ketchup
- 3/4 cup cold water
- 2 tablespoons worchestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- lemon juice from 1/2 lemon
- 1 pinch rosemary
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 1/4 large cabbage, sliced
- Meatballs
- Combine beef, egg, cornflakes, water, onion, salt and pepper. Mix to combine well. Form mixture into walnut sized balls and saute in oil over medium heat, turning once. Drain thoroughly.
- Combine all sauce ingredients in a large pot and mix completely. Add meatballs. Bring to a boil, cover, and simmer for one hour. Stir occassionally to avoiding burning. Eat and enjoy!
