Meatballs Carbonate
- 3 slices bacon
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup bread crumbs
- 2 onions thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon beef bouillon
- 1 teaspoon vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon thyme
- 12 ounces beer
- 1 egg beaten
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons parsley
- Cook bacon until crisp. Crumble and set aside reserving grease.
- In a bowl combine 1/4 cup beer, egg, bread crumbs, salt and a dash of
- pepper. Add hamburger and mix well. Roll into 1" balls, brown in bacon
- grease.
- Transfer meatballs into a 1-1/2 quart casserole. Cook onions in same
- skillet as meatballs with bacon grease until golden. Stir in flour, add
- remainig beer, boullion, brown sugar, vinegar, 1-1/2 teaspoons salt, thyme
- and pepper. Pour over meatballs.
- Cover and bake in 350 degree over for 45 minutes.
