Ginny'S Apple Pie(New England)
- Stayman apples, sliced very thin
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. flour
- medium sharp cheese
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. molasses
- 1/8 tsp. butter chunks
- top and bottom crust for deep-dish pie pan
- Put the bottom crust in a deep pan.
- Mix flour and sugar together.
- Spread 3 tablespoons of sugar/flour mixture.
- Fill the plate half full of apples.
- Spread half the remaining flour mixture on top of apples.
- Scatter about 10 pieces of cheese about the size of your little finger.
- Fill the plate heaping full of apples. Spread the rest of the flour mixture on top.
- Sprinkle on cinnamon and dribble on the molasses.
- Toss on 8 or 10 small chunks of butter.
- Put on top crust.
- Bake at 425u0b0 for 15 minutes, then 400u0b0 for 45 minutes.
