The World'S Truly Best Peanut Cookies Period.

  1. Soften butter by setting out in the morning sun, or hold it close to your heart, or just Microwave it.
  2. Add to large mixing bowl, or cauldron if you have it. I use a Kitchen-aid with the paddle attachment but to each his/her own.
  3. Add in Brown and Granulated Sugar and mix on slow until creamy but not fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs slowly and carefully not to drop shell pieces or parts of the nest (if you gathered them that morning)
  5. Blend until eggs are fully mixed and any sign of accidental shells dropped in the mix have disappeared.
  6. Add Vanilla extract all at once and overcome the temptation to "accidentally" add an extra teaspoon (you will regret it)
  7. Add baking Soda.. not powder, not powder, not powder. I always mix those up.
  8. Slowly and carefully add flour. Not all at once! Little by little...
  9. Oops! I forgot to turn on the oven .. Do that part now or first.. up to you.. 400 Degrees.
  10. With a spoon or an ice cream scoop or even 2 spoons (if you are handy with the spoons) scoop out a dough ball and press into a ball
  11. Place the balls on a cookie sheet or piece of sheet metal or the back of your shield if you are at a medieval reenactment event.
  12. Take a fork and press down gently in a crisscross manner to form a pattern of the same on the tops (just doesn't taste the same with out it does it?)
  13. Place in the oven (if it's heated up yet, Sorry)
  14. Bake for 8 minutes and 32 Seconds (Do not forget to set the timer!) 8:32, Really.
  15. Cool on a rack or cookie mesh like thingy (DO NOT PLACE IN WINDOW SILL. Your neighbors will smell them and be overcome with temptation)

butter, sugar, sugar brown, eggs, salt, baking soda, vanilla, flour, butterscotch chips, chocolate chips
