Creamed Macaroni Meat Bake
- 1 lb. lean ground meat
- salt and pepper
- 1/3 c. chopped green pepper
- 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 (8 oz.) container sour cream
- 1 c. (small curd) cottage cheese
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 c. uncooked macaroni or 2 c. cooked macaroni
- 1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
- Brown meat and drain.
- Add salt, pepper and garlic.
- Stir in tomato sauce.
- Cover and simmer 10 minutes. In a bowl combine sour cream, cottage cheese and egg.
- Mix. Stir in cooked macaroni.
- In a 2-quart baking dish, layer half of macaroni mixture, then half of meat mixture.
- Repeat.
- Bake 30 minutes or until hot.
- Sprinkle with cheese and bake until cheese melts, about 5 minutes.
