Buttery Bubble Bread
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 c. warm water
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 6 Tbsp. butter, melted
- 4 1/2 c. bread flour
- Dissolve yeast in warm water; add sugar, shortening, egg, salt and 1 cup of flour. Beat until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough. Turn onto a floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 6 to 8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place about 1 hour. Punch dough down. Turn onto a lightly floured surface; shape into 1 1/2-inch balls. Dip in butter and arrange evenly in a greased 9-inch fluted tube pan. Drizzle with remaining butter; cover and let rise in warm place until doubled, about 45 minutes. Bake at 350u0b0 for 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown. Cool for 5 minutes before inverting onto a platter.
