Pom Vanilla Almond Cereal
- 1 cup arils from 1-2 large POM Wonderful Pomegranates
- 2 cups bran flakes
- 1 cup old fashioned oats
- 1/2 cup wheat germ
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1. Score 1-2 fresh pomegranates and place in a bowl of water. Break open the pomegranate underwater to free the arils (seed sacs). The arils will sink to the bottom of the bowl and the membrane will float to the top. Sieve and put the arils in a separate bowl. Reserve 1 cup of the arils from fruit and set aside.
- 2. Preheat oven to 275u0b0F.
- 3. Mix all ingredients except arils in a large bowl.
- 4. Coat a large baking sheet with pan spray.
- 5. Spread cereal in a single layer on the sheet and place in preheated oven..
- 6. Bake for 40 minutes.
- 7. Serve with milk or juice and 2 tablespoons arils.
