German Spice Cake

  1. Make a liquid from 1/2 cup coffee and 1 cup water.
  2. Cream margarine and add sugar and whole egg and nutmeats.
  3. Put spices in flour.
  4. Make up coffee and strain.
  5. Mix coffee with enough flour to make a liquid paste.
  6. Put baking powder in balance of flour mixture.
  7. Mix alternately flour and coffee with creamed mixture. Bake in any pan, round, square or tube style, well-greased.
  8. Put in unlighted oven.
  9. Bake at 350u0b0 for 1 hour.
  10. Cover with chocolate frosting.
