Keema
- 1 lb ground lamb or beef
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 2-inch piece of ginger, grated
- 2 green chillies, chopped (use more or less depending on your taste)
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1 medium tomato chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tbsp garam masala
- 1/4 tsp tumeric
- 1/2 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin powder
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper powder
- salt and black pepper to taste
- 2-3 tbsp chopped cilantro
- 1. Fry the onion, garlic, ginger, and chillies in 1 tbsp oil until the mixture starts to turn golden.
- 2. Add the spices and mix well.
- 3. Add the meat and cook until it is no longer pink.
- 4. Add the tomato and any juices. Cook for 2 minutes to break down the tomato.
- 5. Add the peas and lemon juice. Turn the temperature down and cover. Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring often.
- 6. Fold in the cilantro and serve.
