Steak Calzones
- 1 8 oz ball pizza dough, defrosted
- 1/2 lb flank steak, sliced thin
- 2 1/2 small onions, sliced thin
- 1/2 pkg boursain cheese
- 1 1/2 c shredded mozzarella
- 2 T chopped fresh thyme
- 1 T honey
- 1 T white wine vinegar
- 2 T olive oil
- Preheat oven to 425. Saute onions in 1 T olive oil over medium high heat till caramelized, 3-5 min. Mix in thyme and honey and cook one minute more. Add vinegar, mix well, and remove to bowl. Set aside. In the same pan, cook flank steak in remaining 1 T olive oil till barely cooked. Mix with onion mixture and set aside.
- Roll out pizza dough. Spread half of dough with boursain cheese, leaving a 1 inch border, and top with steak and onion mixture. Top steak with mozzarella cheese, and fold un-topped dough over top of filling. Seal edges and brush top with olive oil. Bake on a pizza stone for 20 minutes. Slice into 4 wedges and serve hot.
