Oatmeal Wafers

  1. Heat oven to 375u0b0.
  2. Lightly grease 2 baking sheets; set aside. In a medium bowl mix first 5 ingredients; set aside.
  3. In a small saucepan or skillet melt margarine over moderate heat.
  4. Add margarine, maple syrup and vanilla to dry ingredients; mix well. Drop dough by tablespoonfuls onto baking sheets, spacing cookies about 2 inches apart.
  5. Pat each cookie down lightly to form 1/2 inch thick rounds.
  6. Bake for 8 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove cookies from oven and let harden on baking sheets for 2 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool.
