Ronne Hellmanns Steak Marinade
- 2 1/2 lb. london broil
- 1/2 C peanut oil
- 1/2 C soy sauce
- 2T vinegar
- 1 tsp. dried thyme or sage
- 1 tsp. paprika
- 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1/2 C honey
- 1. Score meat on both sides making shallow diagonal cuts 1/4" deep at 1" intervals forming diamond pattern.
- 2. place meat in shallow dish or zip loc bag
- 3. Combine oil, soy sauce, vinegar, thyme, paprika, cayenne and honey. Pour over meat, tossing to coat. Cover or seal in fridge for 6 hours or overnight.
- 4. Preheat grill to medium hot. Remove meat from marinade, reserving marinade. Grill basting occasionally with extra marinade for 10 minutes on each side for medium rare or until desired degree of doneness.
- 5. Transfer steak to carving board and let stand 5 minutes. Cut across the grain into thin strips. Arrange on a platter and serve.
