Heavenly Apple Cake
- 2 egg whites
- 1 egg
- 8 oz fat free cream cheese, divided
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup apple sauce
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 4 cups apple slices, peeled
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Spray a 9x13 cake pan with cooking spray.
- In a mixing bowl, beat egg whites and egg with cream cheese, gradually add sugar, honey and vanilla. Whisk in apple sauce.
- Combine salt,flours, cinnamon, cloves and baking soda in another bowl. Slowly add this into egg mixture, beating after each addition. Fold in apples. Spread into pan and bake for 45 minutes. Let cool on wire pan and drizzle with Cream Cheese Glaze
- Cream Cheese Glaze:
- 4 oz cream cheese
- 2 T fat free milk
- 2T honey
- 2T powdered sugar
- Beat all ingredients together and drizzle on cooled cake.
