Sweet And Sour Chicken(China)
- 1 1/4 lb. chicken thighs (about 5)
- 1 large egg, separated
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1/4 c. plus 1/2 tsp. sugar
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- pinch of black pepper
- 1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 large green bell peppers
- 1 small clove garlic
- 1/2 c. chicken stock or broth
- 3 Tbsp. distilled white vinegar
- 2 Tbsp. rice wine
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 4 c. vegetable oil
- 3 Tbsp. peanut oil
- 1 1/2 c. canned, drained pineapple chunks
- 1 Tbsp. sesame oil
- Bone chicken thighs.
- Cut chicken into 3/4-inch pieces. Mix egg
- yolk, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1/2 teaspoon each of sugar and salt and the black pepper in a medium bowl.
- Stir in chicken. Sprinkle

- tablespoon of cornstarch; stir to mix well. Marinate at room temperature 30 minutes.
