Sylvia'S Steak Marinade
- 6 cloves garlic, smashed and peeled
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar, lemon juice or wine
- 1/4 cup oyster sauce
- 2 tablespoons worcstshire sauce
- 12 drops tabasco sauce or to taste
- 2 teaspoons salt or to taste
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- olive oil
- Combine all ingredients. Working in a shallow pan or bowl coat steaks with marinade, rubbing it well into the meat. Transfer steaks and marinade to a large zipper seal plastic bag and refrigerate for at least 12 hours and up to 24 hours. Turn the bag a few times massaging marinade into the meat. Have a charcoal fire or heated gas grill ready. Remove steaks from marinade, pat dry, brush lightly with olive oil and broil at high heat. Makes enough marinade for about 3 pounds of steak or 6 small steaks.
