Onion-Bread Stuffing

  1. Trim crusts from bread and cube loaves. There should be about 18 cups. Spread onto baking sheets to allow to dry out. (May put in 250* oven)
  2. Combine seasonings and mix well.
  3. Fry onions in shortening. Add bread cubes and herb mixture and saute til browned and crisped. (Do this in 3 batches)
  4. Pour mixture into 3 qt casserole dish. Melt butter in broth and pour over mixture.
  5. Cover with foil and bake at 350* for about 30 min.
