Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. sour cream
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate morsels
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- Cream butter; gradually add 1 cup sugar, beating well at medium speed of an electric mixer. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Combine flour, baking powder and soda.
- Add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream, beginning and ending with flour mixture.
- Mix after each addition. Stir in vanilla.
- Spread half of the batter in a greased and floured 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
- Sprinkle with chocolate morsels. Combine 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon and sugar over morsels. Top with remaining batter. Sprinkle with remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 30 minutes.
