Fudge Brownies (With Optional Frosting)
- 6 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- 4 ounces milk chocolate chips
- 3/4 cups unsalted butter
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar (dark preferred)
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs + 1 egg yolk
- 1 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup semi, milk, white, or dark chocolate chips
- Optional: 3/4 cup hazelnuts, chopped
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
- 1) Melt the bittersweet and milk chocolate with butter in double boiler until the mixture is smooth. Let chocolate/butter mix cool.
- 2) Stir in sugar, vanilla, and eggs.
- 3) Add salt and flour, stir until combined.
- 4) Add chocolate chips
- 5) Pour into a well-buttered 13 by 9 inch pan and bake for 25-30 minutes
- Makes 24 bars
- Optional: Add hazelnuts (3/4 cup) to mixture and spread nutella over top when cooled.
