Heavenly Frosted Salad

  1. Drain pineapple; reserve 1/2 cup juice and set aside.
  2. Combine gelatin in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add 2 cups boiling water, stirring until dissolved.
  4. Stir in 1 1/2 cups cold water.
  5. Add bananas, pineapple and pecans.
  6. Pour into a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Chill until firm.
  7. Combine flour and sugar in a medium saucepan, mixing well.
  8. Stir in egg and reserved pineapple juice; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until smooth and thick.
  9. Cool. Prepare whipped topping mix according to package.
  10. Add cream cheese; beat until smooth.
  11. Fold in cooked mixture; spread over gelatin mixture.
  12. Chill.
  13. Makes 15 servings.
