Burek
- 1 pound phyllo pastry
- 1/2 pound of muenster cheese, cut into cubes
- 2trge eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 large handful chopped parsley
- 1/2 cup melted butter plus one tablespoon
- 1. Thaw phyllo dough overnight in the refrigerator, if frozen.
- 2.Roll out your defrosted phyllo sheets, and cut a 3-inch wide strip all the way along lengthwise. Immediately cover this strip with Saran Wrap, and wrap up the remaining phyllo dough and refrigerate it.
- 3.Combine the cheese, egg, and parsley.
- 4. To assemble the triangles, melt the butter. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper and cover with two sheets of Saran Wrap.
- 5. Place one sheet of phyllo on a flat surface and brush with melted butter.
- 6. Attach to this sheet with another sheet, buttering the top sheet.
- 7. To assemble the triangles, melt the butter.
- 7. Spoon a teaspoon of filling onto the end of each strip and form a triangle, by folding the right hand corner to the opposite side, as you would a flag, brushing with melted butter all the way.
- 8. Place the triangles on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, and immediately cover with Saran Wrap, and refrigerate until you are ready to bake.
- Be sure to cover all phyllo with Saran Wrap
- 9. Bake the triangles in a preheated 350o F. oven until golden brown, about 10 minutes.
