Walnut Tassies

  1. Prepare pastry
  2. Combine 1/4 pound butter, cream cheese, and flour and work into smooth dough.
  3. Press dough into 24 cups of small (11/2-inch diameter) muffin tins and set aside.
  4. Prepare filling, fill tartlets, and bake
  5. Pre-heat oven to 375u0b0F.
  6. Combine brown sugar, vanilla, walnuts, beaten egg, and 1 tablespoon soft, unsalted butter in a bowl.
  7. Fill pastry shells to a level slightly below the top of dough in cups with walnut mixture.
  8. Bake tartlets at 375u0b0F. for 20-25 minutes. Dust with confectioners' sugar while still warm.
  9. Christmas Cookie Note:
  10. Double only. Make two double recipes for 96 pieces.
