Gourmet Improvised Bachelor/Bachelorette Ramen Noodle Soup
- Mineral water to taste
- Shot(s) of vodka or tequila to taste
- Bottle(s) of beer
- Two packets of Ramen Noodle, choose a combination of either shrimp, beef or chicken.
- 1 medium onion, halved from pole to pole; each half cut into 6 wedges separate the layers
- Half a red capsicum (bell pepper) coarsely chopped
- A splash of soy sauce
- A squirt of chilli sauce
- Half a bunch of fresh coriander (cilantro) coarsely chopped
- Hand full of beef strips, pre stir fried
- Hand full of chicken breast strips, pre-stir fried
- Six to eight cooked shelled prawns (shrimp)
- One large coarsely chopped fresh crisp tomato
- The cooking time is about three minutes and the preparation steps are done in quick succession.
- Drink the mineral water.
- Put six cups of water into a medium sized saucepan.
- Put the saucepan on the stove on full heat.
- Do a shot of vodka or other preferred liquor.
- Quickly throw in the capsicum and onion.
- Open the two packets of Ramen Noodles, roughly and quickly break the dried noodles into quarters and toss in the saucepan.
- Open the beer and take a swig.
- With your teeth, rip open the Ramen flavor satchels and only sprinkle half each the contents into the saucepan, stir.
- Add a splash of soy sauce and a squirt of chili sauce to taste, stir.
- Throw in the pre stir fried chicken and beef, stir.
- Sprinkle in the chopped coriander, stir.
- Bring to boil, stir and then turn off the heat.
- Cover and stand for 1 minute.
- Take another swig of beer.
- Throw in the prawns and stir.
- Ladle the noodle and ingredients into two large bowls and garnish each serving with half the chopped tomato.
- Serve immediately in front of the TV while watching Two and Half Men.
- Best served after a heavy night, mid to late morning.
- Serves two to three depending on the size of your bowls. Add more beer or vodka to taste.
- Note: For a vegetarians leave out the beef, chicken and prawns, replace with a handful of little broccoli trees and half a finely sliced carrot. Also tofu blocks (either pre-fried or plain), straw mushrooms and half a cup of coconut milk and a squirt of lemon or lime juice and some finely sliced ginger will work well.
- For Non alcoholics leave out the heavy night and alcohol and serve in the mid to late afternoon on a lazy rainy day.
