Beefsteak Pizzaiola

  1. While flank steak is partially frozen, slice into 1/4 x 2-inch strips. Allow to completely thaw.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet until almost smoking.
  3. Sear steak on both sides.
  4. Add onion, garlic, tomatoes, bell pepper and herbs.
  5. Simmer, covered, for 1 hour, adding water if liquid boils off. Add mushrooms and wine. Continue to simmer until mushrooms are cooked. Serve with white rice.
  6. Serves 6 people.
