Almond Coconut Brownies
- 1 1/2 cups butter
- 4 sqrs. unsweetened chocolate
- 2 1/4 c. sugar
- 3 eggs beaten
- 1 c. all purpose flour
- 3/4c. chopped slivered almonds
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- Filling:
- 1c. sugar
- 1c. milk
- 24 jumbo marshmellows
- 1 package flaked coconut
- Topping:
- 1c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 3/4c. sugar
- 1/4c. butter
- 1/4c. milk
- 1/4c. chopped slivered almonds(toasted)
- 1. in a saucepan, low heat, melt butter and chocolate; cool slightly. Add sugar. Stir in eggs, flour, almonds, and vanilla. Transfer to a greased 13in. x 9in. x 2in. baking pan. Bake at 350 f for 30 min. or untill toothpick comes out clean. Let cool.
- 2. In a large saucepan, combine filling ingredients; bring to a boil. pour over brownies.
- 3. In another saucepan, combine chocolate chips, sugar, butter, and milk; bring to a boil. Spoon over the filling. Sprinkle almonds. Chill for 2 hours or untill set. Store in fridge.
