Vietnamese Seared Tuna Salad
- 2 hearts of romaine lettuce chopped
- 1/2 cup julienne Jicama
- 1 Tablespoon chopped fresh ginger
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
- 1/8 cup chopped fresh mint
- 1/8 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1/8 cup chopped fresh basil
- 2 Tablespoons chopped fresh chives
- 2 Fresh Tuna Steaks
- 2 Tablespoons Sesame seeds
- 2 Tablespoons Soy sauce
- 1.5 Tablespoons sesame seed oil
- 4 Tablespoons store bought Thai peanut sauce
- salt to taste
- Toss first 8 ingredients in a large bowl and set aside in refrigerator. Coat tuna with soy sauce and sesame seeds. Heat sesame seed oil in saute pan. Cook Tuna on each side for 15-30 seconds. Slice Tuna into 1 inch Strips. Divide salad onto 4 plates top with tuna and drizzle with peanut sauce. Salt to taste (salt may not be needed at all)
