Chocolate Coconut Slices
- 1 c. margarine
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. flour
- 1/4 c. cocoa
- 1/2 c. broken walnuts
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 1/2 c. coconut
- 2 c. powdered sugar
- 1/4 c. cocoa
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- milk or cream
- Cream together margarine and sugar.
- Add eggs, one at a time, to creamed mixture.
- Add 1 teaspoon vanilla.
- Sift together the flour and 1/4 cup cocoa.
- Add to creamed mixture; blend well. Stir walnuts into batter.
- Spread into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake at 350u0b0 for about 30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Combine milk and coconut; spread over hot cake and return to oven.
- Continue baking until coconut is lightly browned, about 15 to 20 minutes.
- Remove from oven.
