Mrs. Warren’S Secret Silver Cream Pie

  1. Bake pie shell.
  2. Soak gelatin in 1/3 cup of water and reserve.
  3. Combine egg yolks, 1/2 cup sugar, lemon, and orange in a round bottom bowl or pan. Cook over hot water stirring constantly. Add the butter and gelatin.
  4. Beat egg whites until stiff, gradually adding a cup of sugar. Fold the thickened mixture into the egg whites while still hot.
  5. Pour mixture into baked pie shell.
  6. Refrigerate.
  7. Before serving, whip 1 cup of whipping cream. Put over pie, and grate orange rind over it.
