Pumpkin Bread With Pumpkin Glaze
- Bread:
- 3 1/2 c. all purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 c sugar
- 1 1/2 c brown sugar
- 1 tsp. each: nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon
- 1 cup oil
- 2 cup canned pumpkin
- 4 eggs
- Glaze:
- Cream together until smooth (no lumps):
- 1 1/4 c. powdered sugar
- 2 Tablespoon soft butter/margarine
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. allspice
- Then add 3 Tablespoon canned pumpkin.
- Spread on top, sides and ends of bread while still warm.
- Sift together all dry ingredients. Mix oil and pumpkin together, then into dry ingredients, stirring well. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well. Pour into 2 greased and floured regular size loaf pans.
- Bake at 350 degrees 50-60 minutes, until tester comes out clean.
- Cool 5 minutes, remove from pans.
- Place on wire rack to cool and spread on glaze.
