Sweet Basil And Prosciutto Scones
- 2 cups All Purpose Flour
- 1 tablespoon Baking Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 2 tablespoons Minced Garlic
- 2 tablespoons Finely Chopped Basil
- 1/2 cup Cold Butter
- 1 Egg
- 1/2 cup Heavy Cream
- 1/4 cup Shredded Italian Cheese Blend
- 1/4 cup Finely Chopped Prosciutto
- 2 tablespoons Melted Butter
- Preheat oven to 400. Mix flour, salt, baking powder together.
- Next, cut in the butter until it is course and crumbly.
- Then stir the garlic and basil into the mixture.
- In another bowl, mix together the heavy cream and egg. Then slowly drizzle this into the flour mixture while gently stirring.
- Finally, gently fold in the shredded cheese and prosciutto.
- Pat dough into a 1 inch thick circle on a floured surface, and cut the dough with a pizza cutter into eighths.
- Place on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Brush with heavy cream and bake for 12 - 14 minutes.
- While the scones are still warm, brush with melted butter and sprinkle shredded cheese on top. Enjoy!
