Shah Welsh Rarebit
- 1 bottle of beer
- 3 tablespoons whiskey or bourbon
- 1 tsp worcheshire sauce
- 1 lb cheese (cheddar, gruyere or others)
- 4 tablespoons white flour
- 1/2 tsp dry mustard
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp cumin
- 1 egg yolk, whipped slightly
- Bring beer/whiskey (bourbon), worcheshire sauce and pepper to a simmer in a saucepan at medium heat. Simmer for 5 minutes. Meanwhile shred the cheese and mix with the flour, garlic powder, salt and cumin.
- Lower the heat to low. Add the cheese mix in small batches to the beer sauce, mixing each until melted.
- After all the cheese is melted, add the egg yolk and cook for an additional minute.
- Serve
